Louis Armstrong’s huge grin was the source of some of his most well known nicknames. He was called Gate Mouth, Dipper Mouth and, most famously, Satchel Mouth or Satchmo. This tune, written in 1923 by Armstrong and King Oliver, celebrates that cavernous grin. It’s “Dippermouth Blues”.
